Aston Martin has officially introduced the Valhalla Spider, marking it as the fastest convertible the brand has ever produced. This mid-engined hypercar retains an impressive performance despite its open-top design, maintaining a focus on lightweight engineering.

Specifications and Performance

The Valhalla Spider features a plug-in hybrid powertrain consisting of a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 and three electric motors—two for the front axle and one integrated into the eight-speed dual-clutch transmission. This setup generates a powerful 1,064 hp and 811 lb-ft of torque, allowing the car to accelerate from 0 to 62 mph in just 2.5 seconds. Its top speed matches the fixed-roof Valhalla Coupe at 217 mph (350 km/h), although this is electronically limited.

Weight Management

Remarkably, Aston Martin managed to limit the weight increase from the coupe to just 25 kg (55 lb), bringing the Spider's total weight to 1,680 kg (3,704 lb). This achievement is largely due to the car’s carbon-fiber monocoque structure, which minimizes the need for heavy bracing typically required in convertibles. The additional weight primarily comes from the roof mechanisms and modifications for the removable top.

Pricing and Availability

While Aston Martin has yet to confirm the exact pricing for the Valhalla Spider, estimates suggest it will start around $1.6 million. This price point reflects the typical premium convertibles command over their coupe counterparts, which begin at approximately $1.05 million to $1.1 million. Deliveries of the Valhalla Spider are expected to initiate in late 2027.
