McLaren's Heritage Collection Sale
McLaren Racing has announced the sale of five notable F1 cars from its Heritage Collection, in partnership with Tom Hartley Jnr. This is a rare opportunity for collectors to acquire race-driven vehicles directly from the manufacturer, marking a distinctive moment in F1 memorabilia.
Among the cars available are two MP4/6As from the 1991 season, which helped secure the constructors’ title for McLaren Honda, driven by Gerhard Berger and Ayrton Senna. This model achieved eight wins and 18 podium finishes during that season.
Additionally, the collection features an MP4/27A from the 2012 season, associated with the Vodafone era, driven by Lewis Hamilton and Jenson Button. This car contributed to McLaren’s third-place finish in the constructors’ championship, with seven victories and 13 podiums.
The lineup also includes the MCL35M, which Lando Norris piloted to a podium finish at the 2021 Monaco GP, and the MCL37A, known as the MCL60, from the 2023 season. The latter gained attention as it was used by Brad Pitt for his first F1 test at the Circuit of the Americas, promoting his upcoming film related to the sport.
Tom Hartley expressed optimism about finding suitable homes for these remarkable cars, emphasizing that while they will be sold individually, there is no rush to complete the sales. McLaren and Hartley aim to ensure these vehicles are acquired by passionate collectors.
