Aston Martin Unveils Valhalla Spider, Its First Open Mid-Engined Supercar
Written with artificial intelligence.

Aston Martin has introduced the Valhalla Spider, its first production mid-engined open supercar, featuring a PHEV powertrain that combines a 4.0 twin-turbo V8 and three electric motors. The car will make its global debut at the Wynn Las Vegas concours, with deliveries starting in Q3 of 2027.
Valhalla Spider Overview
Aston Martin has officially announced the Valhalla Spider, expanding its lineup after the Valhalla Coupé. This model features a plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) powertrain, which includes a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine producing 828 PS, complemented by three electric motors that add an additional 251 PS.
Innovative Design and Performance
This supercar is notable for being Aston's first open mid-engined production vehicle. Developed in collaboration with Aston Martin Performance Technologies, it incorporates advanced materials like carbon fiber, utilizing techniques derived from Formula 1. The structural integrity is enhanced through resin transfer molding and autoclave technology, resulting in a lightweight yet stiff framework.
With the fabric roof, the Valhalla Spider can achieve speeds of up to 200 km/h. When equipped with the optional carbon fiber hardtop, the vehicle can reach an electronically limited top speed of 350 km/h, which will be standard in the U.S. market. The car generates over 600 kg of downforce when the roof is in place.
Advanced Features
When the roof is removed, the Valhalla Spider includes a unique wind deflector designed to manage airflow effectively, directing it towards the snorkel, which is 35 mm taller than that of the coupé. The vehicle also features updated active aerodynamics, a new carbon fiber Touring Seat option, and retains the signature dihedral doors.
Power delivery is managed through two electric motors at the front axle with torque vectoring, while the third motor integrates with the eight-speed transmission to drive the rear axle and e-differential. Each wheel's drive is electronically monitored for optimal performance.
The official global debut of the Valhalla Spider will take place at the Wynn Las Vegas concours this weekend, with customer deliveries expected to begin in the third quarter of 2027.
